Mahlogonolo Thobile Foundation was founded on my 2014 personal experience of becoming an instant preemie mom to my now 6years old daughter. I gave birth at Life Brenthurst Hospital in Parktown, Johannesburg.

Annually on 17th November, we observe World Prematurity Day. Our first event and a soft launch in 2019 coincided with this important day in the history of premature babies. We collaborated with Life Brenthurst Hospital where we gave birth to my preemie. On this day, we acknowledge that which preterm babies together with their families go through, raising awareness about the challenges faced on this difficult journey.

Mahlogonolo Thobile Foundation was honored to be part of the celebration of this important day. Our working relations with the hospital started here, to date we have since maintained a healthy working relationship with the hospital.

We have also started a Prem Mom Tribe on the same day where we share our experiences about this journey with the hope of encouraging new mothers going through the most. Our aim is to talk about the journey every day and not wait for November. Premature babies are born daily in the country and we need to support the new mothers as much as we could. We are grateful to the tribe for keeping the conversation going regularly.

To preemie families, you are not alone on this journey. Many of us have walked this difficult path and we are here to offer support at all times. Get in touch with us
