The inception of the first Women in Dialogue on 20 July 2019 was literally a dream come through. Hosting my very first formal event with high-level guest speakers and a motivational speaker, I couldn’t stop pinching myself in disbelieve prior to the event.
How would we know the stories behind the successful women we admire if we don’t make an effort to attend events where they are guest speakers?
A cold winter morning, 20 July 2019, in Johannesburg at Constitution Hill, Braamfontein. Women left their families, comfort, and warm homes to listen to our amazing speakers, authentically sharing their journey with us. Little did we know that to get to where they are today, they worked tirelessly. Nothing came on a silver platter, it took a lot of pain, sacrifice to be where they are today.
A very cold Saturday but the guest speakers kept us awake and feeling hot. Our motivational speaker who used to spend most of her life at sea is now making waves inland. She shook the room and left many in tears.
Hosting the first dialogue was quite an experience I would always treasure in my life. I am grateful to the guest speakers and our motivational speaker who laid a solid foundation at Lifestyle Anchor. Without the audience, there will be no dialogue. The overwhelming support I received from everyone who was in attendance on the day and Phakamile who could not make it, is valuable and well appreciated. You will forever be special in my heart
