Are you a preemie family or know of a family that has just embarked on this journey?

Our upcoming fun walk will be an opportunity for you to connect with other preemie families. On the day, we will have families sharing their journey. This will be done as we continue to raise awareness about our journey while educating various communities about premature birth and how they can be involved in giving support to the families.

A journey that starts with excruciating pain and tears. Majority of us gave birth via c-section and sadly, we could not hold our babies immediately as they are rushed to NICU. Sometimes, mothers don’t even realise or notice the sequence of events, we just hit the ground running.

When we are back to our senses, the first place we are taken to, is the NICU. We are confronted with multiple wires, machines and plastic wraps while other babies are inside incubators. It is heartbreaking to see such tiny bodies in that state. These wires play a pivotal role in motoring the baby during their NICU days because they are born premature. They are not yet fully developed and therefore need help. The wires monitor their heart rate and oxygen levels while the intravenous infusion line helps deliver medication and fluids to their body, most importantly, it is the feeding machines for milk (preferably breastmilk) to ensure the babies get enough nutrition to survive the NICU journey.

Below is a picture, many have seen on the internet and social media platforms. It gives us an idea of what some of the wires do during the NICU phase.

Our preemies had these wires immediately at birth and were taken into NICU for further medical assistance. From day one until the day we graduate out of the NICU. Our story remains unique and not often told, rather, publicly spoken about.

We invite you to the fun walk to come and witness how our preemies are thriving. We are confident that many more will continue to thrive. Below is the link to sign up for your family and friends, the tribe is looking forward to connect with you
